CGE Executive Council Meeting Minutes – January 31, 2013

Email Decisions – Approval for online tax payment

Campaign Update GMM Recap – Forrest LOVED the food (sounds like everyone liked it) but it was a bit challenging to make it happen in a limited amount of time. In the future, we’ll try a little more advanced planning and communication. The meeting ended up going really well, though. We were able to get the agenda translated into Spanish and Korean prior to the meeting, too. We elected 17 delegates (and 2 alternates) for AFT-OR Convention.

Winter School Recap – Danny learned a lot in his financial management workshop (about auditing, various insurance options, etc). Braden had a “lovely” time in his parliamentary procedure workshop. All the attendees got to bring home binders with lots of useful info. It was definitely worth sending people.

Alta Gracia – The film screening on Monday attracted a few people. Eric has circulated a petition about OSU using non-sweatshop apparel. There will be an action on February 14.

AFT Higher Ed Conference – We have two CGE delegates.

May Day Solidarity Fair – There will be an organizing meeting this coming Sunday afternoon.

DHE Issue – Danny recently heard from someone who’s in a difficult and confusing situation. He’s in communication with them to learn more and see what can happen. (He was meant to be in a meeting about this last week but was given the wrong room location.) [Executive Session] Meeting adjourned at 3:15 PM
