The General Membership Meeting this term is going to be Friday, January 30th at 5:30 PM at the Chintimini Senior Center on the corner of 26th and Tyler.
On the agenda for the meeting include the possibility of getting fees covered through legislation, nominating and electing delegates to send to the annual AFT-Oregon Convention, forming a budget committee to plan next year’s budget, and more.
There’ll also be plenty of food and drink for all who attend. Hope to see you there.
See below for a map and directions to the senior center.
This GMM rocked. I think we had close to 40 people there, which is by far the largest GMM we’ve ever had. We elected a full slate of 8 delegates to go to the AFT convention in Sunriver this April. And, the whole time, I felt a great energy in the room, which has been increasing in strength at each of our last several events. I have to say that CGE has come a long way since I first became a member. Thanks to all who came out last night.
One thing I was disappointed with though: with about 40 people at the meeting, we couldn’t even finish two measly pigs of beer. While we may have come a long way as a union, the fact that we couldn’t even down 4.5 gallons of beer in a night shows me that we’ve got a long way to go until we’re as respectable as the GTFF.
