Minutes from 1-10-12 meeting – Approved

Email Decisions – None this week.

Campaign Update Steward Council Meeting – Tonight, here in Westmin; food at 6:30, business at 7. Braden has about 30 RSVPs. There is approval of putting funds on the debit card to pay for a couple pitchers of beer at McMenamins after the meeting. Spending is approved up to $100.

Committee Updates – The Constitution Committee will be meeting before the GMM, probably next week. The Communications Committee met in the last week and don’t like the “Rabble Rouser” title; Eric will bring it up to the Steward Council tonight. The first issue will come out this quarter with 5 stories.

GMM – This is coming up on Wednesday the 30th at the Senior Center. Wren will draft an agenda for discussion at next week’s EC meeting. Food? A few soup options, bread, and salad.

Winter School – We’ve registered a few people and are working with AFT-OR to get a few more in.

Hiring Update – Interviews are completed now. There are 4 final candidates. The committee should be making a decision on Monday or in the next couple days after that. Alta Gracia – Eric is in contact with Rachel from this group. There was a plan for a film screening about clothing workers tonight, but it conflicted with the rep meeting. The movie has been rescheduled for Monday the 28th. (This can happily coincide with the Ladies In Labor series.)

AFT Higher Ed Conference – March 8-10 in San Diego. AFT will pay for 2 CGEers and AGEL chairs to go. Wren will email the members to request brief letters of interest.

“Wear the Square” – There’s a movement in ASOSU about protesting to the state legislature about tuition hikes. CGE has been asked to support or get involved in it. It’s complicated. Braden has put it on the agenda for tonight’s rep meeting.

Online Tax Payment – Approved Meeting adjourned at 3:15 PM
