  • Slack Approvals (Occurring between 6/11 – 6/18)
  • AME: BBQ on Wednesday and Friday
  • Ice-Breaker
      • What was your favorite musician/artist from high school and how much are they still a guilty pleasure?
  • BBQ Debrief: What went well, where can we improve, did folks have a good time?
      • Folks seem to have loved the pint glasses, but not the running out of beer part. -Valerie
      • The event seemed well attended
      • We ended up having 2 full sized (½ barrel) kegs and 4 smaller (1/6th barrel) kegs; make note for next Spring’s BBQ
        • Need more libations in the future.
      • Karaoke was a hit once it got dark
      • Strategic Goals Survey & new membership cards?
        • Try to solicit survey responses/membership cards at the beer line in the Fall instead of just the “welcome table.” Have a dedicated, “bubbly” person tasked with this job.
        • Food: Have non-beef options in the future, turkey burgers or chicken. Also bring seasoning for vegan patties.
        • Encourage folks to bring games in the future.
  • AFT-OR Percaps Meeting
      • One more meeting on the 20th, 5pm (Alex is going, anyone can join).
        • We want to make sure that we discuss percentages or cost of living adjustment models in this meeting, and confirm logistics for the special convention.
      • We received this projection of possible changes: https://tinyurl.com/ycjup8nu
        • Do we have any projected numbers for how much AFT-OR would bring in under these scenarios? -Emory
        • The last meeting enabled us to create these different scenarios, in each one CGE saves money. Model 4 is the most significant cost-reduction for our local, but also negatively impacts AFT-OR the most.
  • Budget Proposal
      • Budget Committee has sent us a proposal with three different scenarios.
      • Folks should look this over and ask questions during the meeting if they have any.
        • Is the amount for membership cards the correct amount? Do we actually need to double the ordering even if we order all new member cards? We’ll need to follow-up with this.
        • Discussed the need to talk about this at the retreat, but also we should seek steward input on the final budget approval since this is a more significant decision than in year’s past.
        • We also need to know the potential changes in AFT-OR percaps, without a concrete idea we can’t approve a budget because it will be completely based on wrong numbers.
        • We are able to approve a “temporary” budget by the July 1 deadline, and then approve a permanent budget for the year once we have a better idea of percaps and Janus changes, and receive steward input.

      • Still didn’t happen. Now AFT is expecting a decision to be made on Thursday. Emory is going to be keeping up with the SCOTUS blog and notifying the EC once the decision is made. We’ll likely get messages from AFT as well.
      • Once the decision happens, we will be doing a Hustle blast to connect with as many members as possible. We need to decide an “ask” for members we reach. So far, we have photos with members holding #Union signs that we will be publishing every 30 minutes on the day of the decision, and we can ask members to “like” the posts.
      • Also have options for folks that don’t use Facebook to post pictures on twitter and instagram or to share a photo of themselves with us through email that we can post online.
  • Hustle Webinar
      • Lzz and Alex attended the webinar, it likely will require a session where they demonstrate for other folks how to use the Hustle app on the admin level. Everyone (with a smart phone) should have received a verification code to download the app.
      • Alex created a mock template for folks to try it out
      • Janus Hustle campaign will give us an idea of whether we want to continue using Hustle in the future.
  • EC Birthdays, Food Preferences
    • Alex keeps an ongoing list of EC folks birthdays, favorite foods, and any dietary restrictions they have. Please give him this info by the end of the day.
